SFPGA Junior Tour hosts Challenge Tour Event at Indian Spring Country Club
June 22nd 2020 - The South Florida PGA Junior Tour presented by The Honda Classic hosted the second Challenge Tour event of the summer this weekend at Indian Spring Country Club. A sold-out field of 78 junior golfers from ages 11-18 brought the heat on the course during both days of the 36-hole event. The first round of the event also served as a qualifier for the 2020 South Florida Junior PGA Championship, which is set to take place at Banyan Golf Club on July 29-30. 
 
In the boys 11-12 division, Ethan Hoffmann (Boca Raton, FL) carded impressive rounds of 72, 68 for the two-day tournament which earned him the first-place spot of his division. Tristan Rhodenizer (Palm Beach, FL) placed second on the division after a scorecard play-off between Rhodenizer, Cristian Scradeanu (Coral Springs, FL) and Matias Saavedra (Key Biscayne, FL) who all finished the event with total scores of 154. 
 
Sofia Cherif (Miami, FL) captured the first-place spot in the girls 11-12 division after shooting rounds of 73, 72. Coming in second place for the division, Abigail Halpern (Palm City, FL) carded rounds of 79, 86. 
 
Hubert Ramirez (Miami, FL) placed first in the boys 13-15 division with rounds of 77, 74 after a scorecard play-off between TJ Thompson (Coral Springs, FL) who put up scores of 75, 76. Both Ramirez and Thompson had a two-day total of 151 for the event. 
 
Placing first in the girls 13-15 division, with rounds of 75,74 Remi Bacardi (Miami, FL) captured the first-place spot after a scorecard playoff with Ariana Silva (Fort Lauderdale, FL) who had rounds of 76, 77 which earned her the second-place sport. Both Bacardi and Silva ended the tournament with a two-day total of 153. 
 
Jack Flittner (Boca Raton, FL) took the top spot in the boy 16-18 division after carding rounds of 76, 72 for the event. Jacob Paul (Parkland, FL) came in second in the division with rounds of 71, 79. 
 
Placing first in the girls 16-18 division, Noelle Jensen (Boca Raton, FL) put up rounds of 80, 75. Destynie Sherdan (Ft. Branch, IN) took the second-place spot after carding rounds of 79, 80. 
 
Tyler Stamerro (Naples, FL) took the top spot in the boy overall boy 16-18 division after carding rounds of 76, 72 for a two-day total of 148.  Layla Pedrique (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) had rounds of 76, 74 for a two-day total of 150 which earned her first place in the overall girls 13-18 division. 
 
Out of the field junior golfers, there were 12 spots for the boys 13-18 division and 3 spots for the girls 13-18 division up for grabs for the 2020 South Florida Junior PGA Championship.  The following junior golfers qualified for the South Florida PGA Junior PGA Championship:
