South Florida PGA Junior Tour Set to Launch Legends Tour This Summer
The South Florida PGA Junior Tour will introduce a new program to its action-packed summer schedule, the Legends Tour which will offer additional playing opportunities to college students, aged 19-23.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cancellation of the NCAA spring golf season and many other high-profile amateur events has left players without a playing schedule for the 2020 summer season and the SFPGA Junior Legends Tour will offer college students the opportunity to continue competing.
The Legends Tour provides players four tournaments at premier, championship golf courses in south Florida throughout the month of July and will include no membership startup costs, rather just the entry fee for each tournament.
The cost of events will be $125 for 18 holes and $200 for 36 holes.
July 1: Plantation Preserve Golf Course
July 7-8: PGA National (Fazio Course)
July 22: The Strand
July 31-Aug. 1: Jonathan's Landing Old Trail (Hills Course)
While players are not required to belong on a college golf team to participate in Legends Tour events, a scoring average of 85 for boys and 87 for girls will be enforced and courses will be set to collegiate distances, Men (6,900-7,200) and Women (5,900-6,300).
The South Florida PGA Junior Tour has a history of administering high-quality events, operating four tours for all ages, providing its participants with a journey through golf starting with the Links Tour (ages 6-14) through the Championship Tour (ages 13-18).
