Callaway Medalist Champions Emerge After Competitive Weekend at Old Corkscrew
ESTERO, Fla. – Players from the Callaway Medalist Tour participated in a two-day, 36-hole event at Old Corkscrew Golf Club on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8.
During round one, Leah Gram of Jupiter took the lead in the Girls 13-18 Division with an impressive performance. She made five birdies and kept a bogey-free scorecard through the first thirteen holes, finishing the day with a four-under-par 68. Gram followed up with a 73 in round two, finishing at 3-under-par with a total score of 141 to claim the first-place title.
Eva Lye of Naples stayed in contention throughout the tournament, posting consistent rounds of 72 and 71 to finish at 1-under-par with a total of 143. Despite Lye’s strong final round, Gram’s early lead proved unbeatable.
In the Boys 13-18 Division, Jack Ryan Donovan of Ave Maria claimed victory. Donovan’s final round of 71 brought him to two-over-par for a total of 146, securing the win. His steady play kept him ahead of a competitive field, with four players tied for second place at five-over-par.
Jaden Peterson of Port Saint Lucie earned the second-place title after a scorecard playoff, thanks to his strong finish over the last six holes of the final round, including a birdie on the fifteenth hole. He finished with rounds of 78 and 71 for a total of 149.
In the Boys 11-12 Division, Daniel Barcenas of Weston delivered a commanding performance to win first place. Barcenas opened with an impressive 66 in the first round and, despite a challenging final round of 76, finished at 2-under-par with a total score of 142. His remarkable first-round score set the pace for the tournament and secured his victory.
