Hammock Creek Golf Club Hosts Monday Prep Tour Event
Palm City, FL - The South Florida Prep Tour completed its first weekday event of the summer, Monday at Hammock Creek Golf Club, welcoming 70 juniors across five age divisions.

Carding the tournament low round, 3-under 69, Gaella Summers of Cape Coral managed only one bogey to go along with four birdies on the day, helping her to her first Prep Tour win of the summer in the girls 13-18 division. Finishing runner-up, Micaela Ruidias of Boynton Beach wrapped play at 3-over 75.
With the help of an eagle on his last hole of the day at the par 5, 9th hole, Owen Mitnitsky of Jupiter claimed the boys 13-18 title at 1-under 69. Jeffrey Paul Jacobs of North Palm Beach finished runner-up at 4-over 76.
Rain Jiang of Sarasota, in her first event of the year, won the girls 11-12 division with a final score of 2-over 74. Bella Simoes of Aventura finished in second with a score of 8-over 81.
Pablo Munoz Montes of Key Biscayne won the boys 11-12 division at 3-over 75, while Jaxson Weese of Sebastian finished runner-up at 5-over 77.
A scorecard playoff was necessary to determine a champion for the boys 9-10 division, after Reed Abdelnour of West Palm Beach and Rafael Barreto Jimenez of Weston tied at 2-over 74 at the end of the 18 holes. Jimenez was ultimately named the champion due in large part to an eagle on the par 5, 15th hole, his first tournament eagle of his career.
The Prep Tour season will continue June 28th at Palm Beach Par 3 course. Thank you to everyone who participated, and thank you to Hammock Creek Golf Club for hosting.
