Kelly Greens Golf & Country Club Hosts Patty Berg Junior Championship
(Fort Myers, FL - May 26th) –
The Srixon South Florida PGA Junior Tour administered its second major of the year, the Patty Berg Junior Championship at Kelly Greens Golf and Country Club, May 24-26, welcoming 79 junior golfers.

Reed Abdelnour of West Palm Beach managed the tournament low total at 4-under, winning the boys 11-12 division while 74th ranked junior golfer
Carter Brooks of Coral Springs claimed the boys 13-18 division with a 3-under total performance. In the girls 13-18 division, it was Jolie Pastorick of Sarasota who captured the title, finishing at 3-under to win by one shot.
In his fifth event of the year, Abdelnour has already won four events and finished runner-up in another, holding firm control of the Srixon Player of the Year points race for the boys 11-12 division. The 2031 graduate opened the major with a 1-under 71, grabbing the solo lead by two and never giving it back to claim the wire-to-wire victory. Abdelnour finished the event with rounds of 72-68-73–212.
Joshua Fleming of Deerfield Beach finished in second at 2-over, highlighted by a 1-under 71 final round.
In the boys 13-18 division, Brooks entered the final round trailing by three after opening the week with a 3-under 69, the tournament low score for the division. A 3-over 75 in the second round forced Brooks to come from behind in the final round, where he fired another 3-under 69 to claim the title over Talan Wiles of Jupiter by two.
Brooks, a 2025 graduate, managed only one bogey or worse in the final round, combined with five birdies.
“It means a lot to win. This was my first win on Medalist so it felt great—not only to win on Medalist, but to win a major like the Patty Berg felt amazing,” Brooks said. “Throughout the weekend I tried not to get too nervous, but it gets to you when you have a chance to win on the final day. On the last day, I went back-to-back birdies and I guess my emotions got the best of me—then I doubled the next hole. Coming down the stretch, it didn’t feel real, and when I made the last putt, the only thing I could do was smile and enjoy the moment.”
Claiming victory in the girls 13-18 division, Pastorick wrapped the week with scores of 69-73-71, narrowly edging out Almina Erdogan of Bradenton by one shot. After a 3-under 69 in the opening round, Pastorick trailed 104th ranked junior player, Staci Pla of West Palm Beach by one after Pla’s tournament low 4-under 68. A 1-over 73 in the second round was enough to take the lead, now by one over Erdogan.
Pastorick, a 2027 graduate, maintained that one-shot lead with a 1-under performance in the final to take the major title.
“The heat was definitely a factor but I'm glad I was able to pull through and get the win,” Pastorick said. “It was neck and neck the whole final round and really came down to the final stretch of holes. This win means a lot, especially to come out on top after such a challenging weekend battling the hard course and heat. It is a great feeling.”
The Patty Berg Junior Championship is the second of eight junior majors to be played throughout the 2025 season with the South Florida Junior PGA Championship next on the championship schedule, set to be held June 16-17 at Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in Boca Raton.
This year’s Championship was hosted at Kelly Greens Golf & Country Club, which is led by PGA Director of Golf Julie Carse and PGA Assistant Professional Mark Hamstra.
