Palm Beach League Sends Two Teams to PGA Jr. League Regional in Alabama

Palm Beach League’s 13-and-under and 17-and-under teams advanced to the PGA Jr. League Regional competition after winning their respective divisions at today’s Section Championship at Osprey Point Golf Course.
The 17U, coached by Sherri Pla, PGA and David Flinn, PGA won the morning wave after a 9-hole, two-person scramble on Osprey Point’s Falcon Course. For the second consecutive year, the team will play in the Regional Qualifier, held next month at Lakewood Club in Fairhope, Alabama.
Joining the team in Alabama will be the 13U team, also out of the Palm Beach League, coached by Andy Mitchell, PGA and Chris Harm. Both Palm Beach League teams include junior golfers from PGA National and Abacoa.
After all 13U teams played the same format in the morning, the two teams with the lowest aggregate team score advanced to the afternoon, to go head-to-head in a match play competition.
Palm Beach 13U took on Rick Smith Performance Center, ultimately winning by two strokes.
Today's Section Qualifier served as the first of three phases en route to the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship which annually highlights the best PGA Jr. League teams across the country at the PGA of America headquarters in Frisco, Texas.
Leading each team were GA Professionals Zack Shriver, PGA, Rich Kelly, PGA, Sherri Pla, PGA, David Flinn, PGA, John Moscoso, PGA, Jeff Jones, PGA, Andy Mitchell, PGA and Chris Harms, PGA .
