Strong Field of Junior Prep Tour Players Competed at Eastpointe Country Club
Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. - A full field of South Florida PGA Junior Prep Tour members competed at Eastpointe Country Club this past weekend. Players aging from 9-18 years old battled it out on the course in some intense heat on Sunday.
Tyler Lilienfeld captured the boy's 9-10 age division shooting a round of 6-over, 79. The race for second place came down to an intense scorecard play-off between Liam Ly and Danilo Custer. After this deliberation, Liam Ly was runner-up in the boy's 9-10 age division with a round of 9-over par, 82. Wylie Inman took home the boy's 11-12 age division with a round of 3-over par, 76. Alan Gurdogan finished runner-up in the boy's 11-12 age division after a round of 5-over, 78.Alexander Huddas captured the boy's 13-18 age division with a round of 1-over par, 74. Emilio Garcia took home the runner-up spot in a scorecard playoff shooting 76 in the boy's 13-18 age division. Emilio Garcia had an incredible finish with 3 birdies in a row on holes 16, 17 and 18.
Danielle Hernandez captured the girls 9-10 age division shooting a round of 7-over, 80. Laura Monsalve took second shooting a round of 16-over, 89. Marley Pedrique of West Palm Beach took home the girls 11-12 age division after a round of 4 over par, 77. Fernanda Carrion finished runner-up in the girls 11-12 age division after a round of 80. Zoe Shamy took home the girls 13-18 age division with a round of 9-over, 82. Amelia Alonso finished runner-up in the girls 13-18 age division after a round of 86.
The South Florida PGA Junior Prep Tour is a membership-based tour open to boys and girls ages 9-18 in South Florida with the aspirations and skill levels to compete at the High School level and features some of South Florida's most talented junior golfers. The Junior Prep Tour offers one day championship events for junior golfers in South Florida.
