Tracy, Gupta Win South Florida PGA Doral Junior Classic
Nearly 80 of South Florida's top junior golfers competed in a 36-hole stroke play event this week, ending in a one-day team match play tournament.
After Round One went unfinished on Tuesday due to weather, Wednesday play began at 7:30 a.m. to finish the first round before beginning the second.
Chad Tracy came out on top in the Boy's Division after carding a 69, 73 (-2) to win his last SFPGA event before heading off to College.
The Girl's Division was close after Round One with six girls at five over. Natalli Gupta pulled away in the second round, firing a 73 to come out on top.
Following the second round, the field was split and players were placed on two teams: Red Team and Blue Team.
After the Team Red and Team Blue ended in a tie, the low boy and girl from each team then went out for sudden death alternate shot. Chad Tracy and Nicole Cee represented the Blue Team and Natalli Gupta for the Red Team.
Both teams beat out adversity on the first hole making two fantastic birdies to head back to the tee for the second playoff hole. Both teams hit the green in two, and both had looks at birdie. Nicole Cees putt came up just short leaving the door open for the Red Team. Sebastian Nachilly made a 6-footer to clinch the win for the Red Team.
Members of the Red Team included: Sebastian Nachilly, John Hoffman, Fernando Castillo, Sebastian Barcia, Chris Lee, Matthew DePinto, Hans Risvaer, Jack Tharrington, Jake Manelas, Corbin Scott, Haris Khan, Natalii Gupta, Adrianna Albelo, Madison Lowenstein, Hope Hall, Nicole Yugay, and Morgan Rodriguez.
