Brooks and Friedt are crowned champions at the 2025 SFPGA Junior Cup
Palm Beach Gardens, FL - Carter Brooks and Alayna Friedt won the South Florida PGA Junior Cup, the sixth SFPGA Junior Major of the Year, played July 28-30 at BallenIsles Country Club - North Course.

Heading into the final round, Dounia Bezzari of Vero Beach (+6) and Reed Weekley of Davie (-2) held the overnight leads in the girls and boys divisions, respectively, following steady play over the first two rounds.
Carter Brooks of Coral Springs surged 13 places to the top of the leaderboard, firing a 7-under 65 final round fueled by nine birdies to capture the boys title by two shots. The win marks Brooks’ second Junior Major title of the season, having previously taken home the Patty Berg Junior Championship in May.
Jose Carlos Lopez-Lay from Guaynabo, PR took home second place in the boys division with scores of 74-71 and a final round score of even par (72) to finish one over par through 54 holes of play. Winning the scorecard playoff by two-strokes.
Also tied for second place at +1 was Turin Duber of Port Orange and Reed Weekley of Davie. Kenny Klein rounded out the top-five with a 54-hole total of 5-over par.
On the girls side, Alayna Friedt of Naples delivered a 1-over 73 final round, erasing a two-shot deficit to claim the title with a three-day total of 79-73-73. Friedt’s consistent play in the final round—marked by 15 pars and a 1-over finish—earned her the win over runner-up Stephanie Weinberg of Boca Raton, who posted rounds of 75-77-76 to finish at +12 overall.
Madison Hyndman of Palm Beach Gardens held onto third with a 54 hole total of 16-over par. Tied for fourth place was Fernanda Carrion of Coral Gables, Keala Richichi of Jupiter, and Douna Bezzari of Vero Beach.
Grant Garrison, Tyler Lilienfeld, Alex Morales, and Cameron Cantine each carded eagles—three on the par-5 third hole (480 yards) and one more on the par-5 fifth (520 yards), showcasing power and precision.
