Ye and Loyacona Win Medalist Tour Event at Lost City Golf Club
ATLANTIS, FL - Yuanzhou Ye and Jayden Loyacona won the Srixon South Florida PGA Junior Medalist Tour event, played July 16-17 at Lost City Golf Club.

Ye of Weston fired a two-day total of 2-over, the lowest total score of all players in the field, boys or girls. Ye finished round one at 1-under, sitting in first place and two shots ahead of the field. Ye’s round two performance at 3-over helped him maintain the top spot, claiming the victory by one shot over Samuel Friday of Jupiter. Friday finished with a two-day total of 3-over, shooting 6-over in the first round and battled back with a 3-under second round, the tournament low round. Friday clinched the runner-up spot over Joshua Castellanos of Winderemere and Jj Hyun Her of Pembroke Pines through a scorecard playoff with a birdie on the 18th hole.
Loyacona of Boca Raton managed a two-day total of 5-over, clinching the victory by one shot over Yool Her of Pembroke Pines. Loyacona finished round one in the top position at 4-over, and Her tied for fourth at 6-over. In round two Her battled back with a score of even-par, but a 1-over finish in round two for Loyacona was just enough to claim victory.
249 birdies and one eagle was made this weekend, with boys having a 77.51 scoring average and the girls having a 79.08. The top-5 finishers amongst the Boys 13-18 Division are as follows: Yuahzhou Ye (+2), Samuel Friday (+3), Joshua Castellanos (+3), Jj Hyun Her (+3), and Ryder Kenny (+4). The top-5 finishers amongst the Girls 13-18 Division are Jayden Loyacona (+5), Yool Her (+6), Nicole Wu (+11), Valentina Hurtado (+11), and Kai Trump (+11).
The Srixon South Florida PGA Junior Medalist Tour welcomed 69 boys and 16 girls, competing over two divisions at Lost City Golf Club. The Srixon South Florida PGA Junior Medalist Tour is the premier membership-based junior golf program of the South Florida PGA Section. The Medalist Tour season will continue July 28-30 at BallenIsles Country Club for the South Florida PGA Junior Cup.
