Crowe and Mages Win Medalist Tour Event at Indian Spring Country Club
Boynton Beach, Fl - Oscar Crowe won the boy’s 13-18 division by one shot and Mckenzie Mages claimed first place honors in the girl’s 13-18 division after a four-hole playoff during the weekend’s South Florida PGA Medalist Tour event at Indian Spring Country Club.
Going into the final round three shots back, Crowe of Boca Raton sank four birdies, en route to a 2-under final round to win the boys 13-18 division by one shot over Ismael Garcia of Port Saint Lucie. Crowe finished the 36-hole tournament with a two-day, two-under total of 72-70–142.
In the girls 13-18 division, McKenzie Mages of Marietta, GA, Gabriella DeGasperis of Palm Beach Gardens and Ariana Silva of Fort Lauderdale were all tied at one-over after the two rounds, forcing a three-way playoff, starting on the par-5, 10th hole.
Mages and Silva went on to make par as DeGasperis made bogey, eliminating her from the playoff. Mages and Silva proceeded to make par on the next two playoff holes before Mages eventually came out on top with a par on the fourth and final playoff hole to win the title. Mages earned four AJGA stars for the win, while the top 10 percent of female 13-18 finishers received one.
