Kuehne Returns to Claim First Place Title
Palm City- Henry Kuene fired a three-under 141 to best the field by six strokes and win the Medalist Tour event at Martin Downs this weekend.
Last weekend, the Palm Beach Gardens native finished in second place, losing in a playoff at Osprey Point Golf Course. Kuehne brushed off the runner-up finish and opened his first round at Martin Downs with three consecutive birdies and ultimately finished six-strokes ahead of Dave Fuhrer of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the Boy’s 13-18 Division.
In the Girl’s 13-18 division, Catherine Andino of Boca Raton claimed her second Medalist Tour victory of the season, finishing at seven-over. Andino shot a two-day total 74-77–151, three shots ahead of Leelou Girault of West Palm Beach. After the tournament, Andino and her family celebrated her victory at Disney World.
Matthew Marigliano dominated in the Boy’s 11-12 division, entering round two with a five-stroke lead over second place finisher Willaim Richards of Miami. Marigliano carded a tournament-low 69 on Sunday and closed out the tournament at five-under.
This weekend presented players with many difficult course conditions and challenging weather. Congratulations to our champions who overcame the challenges and finished at the top of their age divisions.
