South Florida PGA Toptracer Prep Tour Showcases Rising Stars at PGA National
The recent South Florida PGA Toptracer Prep Tour saw an impressive turnout of 78 players who gathered for a thrilling one-day event at the renowned PGA National Match Course.
In the Girl's 13-18 division, Camila Romero, hailing from Doral, delivered a stellar performance, carding a one-over, 68 with a remarkable display of skill, including an eagle and three birdies. Her outstanding play secured her a commanding seven-stroke lead, positioning her as the leader in the race for Player of the Year points.
Joining her sister at the top, Lucia Romero engaged in a spirited battle for first place with competitor Alyna Yensabai. Both delivered impressive performances, with a finishing score of five over 72. Yensabai clinched the victory after a scorecard playoff, earning a lower back-nine score for the Girl's 11-12 title.
In the Boy's 11-12 division, Jason Brockmann of Boca Raton put on a captivating display, concluding with a four-over 74, seizing a notable four-stroke lead over his nearest competitors, Drew Davis and Spencer Clay, who finished in second place.
Aston Cruz (84), a Miami native, rose to the occasion and claimed the well-deserved title in the Boys 9-10 category.
