This past weekend, the South Florida PGA Junior Tour hosted three events in each of its junior tours, Medalist, Prep and Links, for nearly 200 members.
The weekend began at Tesoro Club on Saturday where the Medalist Tour had a 36-hole event. Tyler Lilienfield led the boy’s 13-18 division after round one, carding an even-par round 72.
While Lilienfield entered round two with a one stroke lead, Port Saint Lucie native James Bradley birdied his first hole and carded just one bogey to edge out Lilienfield by one, finishing at two-over 146.
In the girl’s 13-18 division, Leelou Girault of West Palm Beach and Aliya Liberatore of Palm Beach Gardens mirrored each other throughout the two days, both shooting a total 69-77–146.
The two needed three playoff holes to determine a winner with Girault eventually claiming that title, making par on the par-4, first hole.
Prep and Links Tour Also in Action
Prep Tour took on Okeeheelee Golf Course on Sunday. Due to inclement weather, play was cut short and scores were carded based on how many holes each age group’s last tee time finished. We appreciate everyone for their cooperation during Sunday’s Prep Tour event and apologize for the inconvenience in play.
In addition to Sunday’s Prep Tour event, the South Florida PGA Links Tour had its second event of the year on Sunday at Sailfish Sands Golf Course in Stuart.
It was an exciting weekend for our Junior Tour programs! Congratulations to all of our weekend Champions and special thank you to The Tesoro Club, Okeeheelee Golf Course and Sailfish Sands Golf Course for hosting these events.
