Aquino, Girault and Assis take home Medalist Honors at Martin Downs Golf Club
This weekend, Medalist tour members teed it up at Martin Downs Golf Club. Due to heavy rainfall during Sunday’s round, play was cancelled and the tournmant was modified to an 18-hole event.
Andrew Aquino of Hollywood, fired the best round of the day at 5-under 67, dominating in the boy’s 13-18 division. Thanks to eight birdies, Aquino climbed the leaderboard and achieved victory. Trailing behind, Tomy Jaunet and Jules Gentil of Port Saint Lucie went neck-and-neck for second place with 3-under 69. Coming down to a scorecard playoff on the last three holes of the back nine, Tomy Jaunet came out with second place honors.
In the girl’s 13-18 division, Leelou Girault of West Palm Beach maintained a strong lead with her three birdies and 14 pars over the 18 holes. Girault went bogey-free in her front nine and completed her round at 2-under, 70. Landing in second, Angela Nip of Port St. Lucie fired a total score of one-over 73.

Closing out the day in the Boy’s 11-12 division, Bento Assis of Porto Alegre, Brazil shot two-over 76. Finishing runner-up, Chris Nana Tanke of Palm Beach Gardens closed his round with a 8-over, 78.
