Joshua Anderson Closes Out Prep Tour Event With an Ace
This week, South Florida PGA Prep Tour Members took on Sandhill Cranes Par-3 course on Wednesday followed by Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club on Thursday.
Dominating Sandhill Crane’s Par-3 course, Laura Monsalve of Miami had a strong round, carding even-par with the help of four birdies. Finishing just one shot behind Monsalve was Jupiter local Reese McMillan.
Monsalve currently holds first place position in the 2023 Player of the Year Points for the Girls 13-18 field and McMillan follows closely behind in second.
In the Boy’s 13-18 division, Avery Buttress of North Palm Beach took a hold of first place with an even-par scorecard to cap Wednesday’s round at Sandhill Crane. Brady Beebe claimed second place title at one-over, 55.
To round out the event at Sandhill Crane, Joshua Anderson of Parkland aced his first hole of the day.
On Thursday, the Prep Tour moved down to Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club in Miami and Alfonso Goyeneche and Gabriel Penagos Flores landed in a two-way tie for the Boy’s 13-18 title, finishing at two-over.
Anisleidy Chavez of Florida City won the Girls 13-18 champion with a total 12-over, 83 and Stella Ronja Lind of Doral received the Girls 11-12 title with a 7-over, 78.
In the Boys 11-12 division, Daniel Barcenas of Weston won his first Prep Tour of the season with a total four-over, 75 and four birdies along the way.
To finish the event, the 9-10 division titles were awarded to Alfred Carmenate and Larissa Wheelless of Miami.
