Wycliffe Golf and Country Club Hosts Prep Tour as Junior Tour Season Winds Down
Wellington, FL - The South Florida PGA Prep Tour began rounding out the end of their 2023 season this past Saturday at Wycliffe Golf and Country Club.

Laura Monsalve of Miami is has not be a stranger to the Prep Tour leaderboards this season. With 17 of 19 events resulting in a top-10 finish, Monsalve holds the first place position in the Girl’s 13-18 Player of the Year standings. Monsalve continued this good play on Saturday to claim a 6-stroke lead for first place honors over Marissa Weaver of Vero Beach with a 3-over 75.
Jaxson Weese of Sebastian carded an even-par 72 to win his fifth Prep Tour event this year. Finishing one shot back of Weese, Patrick Pinkey and Carson Meredith both carded a 1- over 73.
Firing off three straight birdies on holes 12-14 Alyna Yensebai (73) of Lake Worth claimed first place honors in the Girl’s 11-12 division over Stella Ronja Lind of Doral in second (83).
Lind currently leads Girl’s 11-12 Player of the year by 125 points over Yensebai.
Winning his first Prep Tour Event of the season, Owen Hicks of Wellington held a 2-stroke lead for the Boys 11-12 division title and wrapped the day at 1- over, 73.
In the Boys 9-10 division, Alfred Carmenate and Linus Castro went neck-and-neck for first place honors both carding 2-over,74. Coming down to a scorecard playoff, Jupiter Native, Carmenate took home his second victory of the season.
The Prep Tour members will head to their last event of the season before they take on the final stage, Prep Tour Championship in November.
